Best Bread Recipe

4 cups flour (I used whole wheat)
1 tbsp. yeast
1 tbsp. salt
3 tbsp. sugar (I use honey)
1 tbsp. oil

Mix vigorously together in a bowl. Then add:
3 cups hot water

Mix again until combined. Add
2-3 cups flour

Knead until it is the consistency of a slightly sticky play dough. Let rise in a covered bowl until doubled (about an hour). Punch down and roll out on a flat surface. Shape into two loaves. Place into two greased loaf pans. Cover and let rise until doubled (about 1 inch above the pan). Bake at 350 for 35 minutes. Let it sit in the pan for 5-10 minutes. Remove from pan and let it cool most of the way on a wire rack before slicing.

  1. Love this recipe! I am never going to buy bread again. Thanks to my sister i learned many ways to sweeten things without using just sugar. I tried this recipe with all natural organic maple syrup in place of the sugar, my husband can't stop eating this bread. Delicious!
